Binding Agreement
By downloading, installing, or using the RentEase 9ja app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all users โ Tenants, Agents, and Landlords.

Property owners who monitor tenancies, rent, and maintenance via the platform.

Users who search, apply, and manage rentals or purchases through the app.
To use RentEase 9ja you must:

Be at least 18 years of age.
- โ
Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- โ
Complete identity verification (KYC) to access core features such as listing properties, signing tenancy agreements, or making escrow payments.
- โ
Keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Agents must additionally complete the platform's professional verification process โ including NIN, BVN, face-match, and phone OTP โ before publishing listings. Verified Agents receive a Blue Badge confirming their identity on the platform.
RentEase 9ja provides a technology platform that connects property agents, landlords, and tenants. The platform facilitates but is not directly responsible for:
- ๐กThe listing, renting, or sale of properties.
- ๐The generation and digital signing of tenancy and sales agreements.
- ๐ฐEscrow-protected rent and purchase payments.
- ๐Digital key handover coordination and deal registry logging.
- ๐งMaintenance request management between tenants and agents.
RentEase 9ja is a marketplace platform. We do not own, manage, or physically inspect any properties listed on the platform. All representations about a property are the sole responsibility of the listing Agent or Landlord.
Agents are held to a higher standard of accuracy and professionalism on the platform:
- ๐ชชAll property listings must be authentic and legally available. Listing fake or unavailable properties is grounds for immediate account termination.
- ๐Agents are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all documentation, pricing, and property condition information.
- ๐ผCommission disbursements are processed only upon successful QR-code key handover confirmation. Attempting to circumvent the escrow system is a violation of these Terms.
- ๐Agents must maintain the confidentiality of all tenant lead data obtained through the platform. Exporting or selling lead data is strictly prohibited.
- โญAgents are subject to reviews and ratings by tenants. Manipulation of reviews is prohibited.
All financial transactions on the platform are governed by the following rules:
- ๐Escrow: Tenant payments are held in escrow and are not released to the agent/landlord until key handover is confirmed via QR code. This protects both parties.
- ๐ณPayment processors: Payments are processed by Paystack. By making a payment, you also agree to Paystack's terms of service.
- ๐ฆWithdrawals: Agents may request payout to a verified bank account. We reserve the right to delay or withhold disbursements in cases of suspected fraud or ongoing disputes.
- โฉ๏ธRefunds: Refund eligibility depends on the specific circumstances of a transaction. Contact support within 48 hours of a disputed payment.
Important: RentEase 9ja is not a bank or financial institution. We do not provide financial advice or guarantee returns on any transaction. All payments are subject to Nigerian financial regulations.
The following are strictly prohibited on the RentEase 9ja platform:
- ๐ซListing properties you do not have authority to rent or sell.
- ๐ซCreating fake or duplicate accounts to circumvent bans or verification requirements.
- ๐ซCollecting payments from tenants outside the platform's escrow system to avoid commission tracking.
- ๐ซHarassing, threatening, or discriminating against other users.
- ๐ซReverse-engineering, scraping, or attempting to extract data from the platform.
- ๐ซPosting false reviews or manipulating the rating system.
- ๐ซAny activity that violates Nigerian law, including money laundering or fraud.
Violations will result in suspension or permanent termination of your account, and may be reported to relevant Nigerian authorities.
The RentEase 9ja name, logo, app design, source code, proprietary algorithms, and all platform content are the exclusive intellectual property of RentEase 9ja and its licensors. You may not:
- ๐ซCopy, modify, or redistribute any part of the platform without written permission.
- ๐ซUse the RentEase 9ja brand or trademarks in any way that implies endorsement without consent.
- ๐ซAttempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the mobile application.
Content you upload (property photos, documents) remains your property. By uploading, you grant RentEase 9ja a non-exclusive licence to display and process that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform.
RentEase 9ja provides the platform on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RentEase 9ja is not liable for:
- โ ๏ธDisputes between agents, landlords, and tenants regarding property conditions, lease terms, or payments.
- โ ๏ธLosses arising from your reliance on information provided by other users.
- โ ๏ธIndirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from your use of the platform.
- โ ๏ธService interruptions caused by third-party providers or force majeure events.
Either you or RentEase 9ja may terminate these Terms at any time.
- ๐คBy you: You may delete your account from within the app at any time. Pending transactions will be settled before deletion is complete.
- ๐ขBy us: We may suspend or permanently terminate your account without prior notice if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or pose a risk to other users or the platform.
Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Sections relating to intellectual property, liability, and governing law survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the Laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms that cannot be resolved informally will be referred to arbitration through the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse (LMDC), whose decision shall be final and binding on both parties.
